As a Channel Merchandiser, the consumer is always at the heart of all you do: always prioritizing their insights & behavior, market data, trends, and buying habits to bring ownable and productive products to market. You possess strong strategic and analytical abilities, are driven and motivated by delivering KPIs, have a strong financial acumen, are excellent at prioritization, and collaborating across multiple stakeholders. This position is based in Boston at New Balance headquarters.

Major Accountabilities

Assortment Planning and Execution

  • Lead the execution of merchandising plans, ensuring sales growth, profitability, and an enhanced consumer experience within the business.
  • Ownership of the Go to Market Calendar, regional meetings & channel business opportunities, gaps & risks

Strategic Planning & Long Range Planning

  • Creates effective business plans and keeps the organization focused on most important goals and objectives
  • Creates and drives 3 year strategic plans and champions strategic initiatives

Head-to-Toe Capsule Execution

  • Drive and execute head-to-toe capsules aligned with the size and scale of Channel/Customer strategy.
  • Facilitate a consumer experience that aligns with distribution and segment strategic goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Global Merch, Marketing, Operations and Planning.
  • Effectively manages change and transition including implications to systems, people, process and future success.

Requirements For Success

  • 4+ years’ experience in a Product Merchandise environment, with 3 years of Footwear/Apparel experience
  • Thinks broadly and long term, stays current with relevant global and industry trends. Anticipates future direction.
  • Experience with product assortment planning, retail sales performance and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of Global Key Account distribution, range architecture, product assortments, concept drivers, and product flow
  • Listens well and creates an environment in which data driven information is encouraged, heard and responded to.
  • Strong leadership that energizes and engages teams around shared goals and finds common ground and negotiates agreement.
