Tecovas is looking for an Assistant Merchant who will assist in maintaining, evolving and amplifying a portfolio of products across the Men's and Women's categories. Dual reporting to the Senior Manager of Mens and Senior Manager of Womens, you will work closely with the Design & Development, and the Merchandising & Planning teams to facilitate the product development lifecycle from lineplan to sales. You will also have a keen eye for product, and an understanding of consumer products business processes.You will be responsible for supporting the product creation process including managing calendar process steps, organizing materials and information, competitive analysis, coordinating cross-functionally, conducting sales analysis, and sample management.This position is based out of Austin, TX but will have the ability to work from home and in-office.What you'll do:

  • Identify market opportunities, customer trends, and become an expert in the competitive landscape
  • Routinely perform sales analyses, report on key business metrics, and offer strategic recommendations to improve the business
  • Assist with the evaluation of product prototypes and make recommendations for improvements
  • Responsible for keeping the merchandising plan up to date and syncing with Planning, Marketing, Apparel, Accessories, Retail and Supply Chain throughout the development process
  • Assist in the creation and data accuracy of seasonal tools: linesheets, seasonal product knowledge, PLM system
  • Organize samples and other materials in the office, and coordinate with Marketing on photo samples

Experience we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years professional business experience
  • Experience in Retail, Buying, or Product Merchandising in Footwear, Apparel or Accessories
  • Business planning and analytical skills
  • Outstanding communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Some travel may be required
