We are currently in search of an experienced and highly motivated Merchandiser/Designer to become a valuable addition to our dynamic team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to driving business growth through strategic curation and management of product assortments, ensuring they meet customer demands and capitalize on opportunities. As the front runner to the account, this individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to efficiently handle day-to-day requests. They will equip their partners with comprehensive information necessary to achieve goals and complete assigned tasks.
Retail Account Management: Take full ownership of specific account or accounts, understanding the unique requirements, customer base, and competitive landscape.
Day-to-Day Operations: Manage all day-to-day needs of the account, including effective communication with sales, product development, design, and art teams. Follow up on open items and ensure smooth operations within the account.
Product Development: Work with cross-functional teams to review and approve product development initiatives, including lab dip approvals, art sizing, and strike-off approvals. Be acutely aware of all development in queue pertaining to the account(s), whether on order or in development, with the ability to give status updates as needed.
Seasonal Presentations: Work closely with cross-functional teams to create compelling, strategy-forward, seasonal presentations. This person works exclusively in Adobe CS to design key programs to present to our retailers.
The Merchandiser will take the lead in coordinating efforts with Sales, Design, Licensing, and Art teams to ensure the provision of all essential components for seamless execution at the highest possible level, while also adhering to timelines and maintaining productivity. Communicate and provide all necessary parts to deliver samples and any other required deliverables for Sales meetings.
Market Awareness: Keep a strong pulse of market trends, competitor activities, and the preferences of the retailer's customer base. Utilize this knowledge to make informed decisions, anniversary business, and identify white space opportunities.
Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional team members to maintain open lines of communication and comradery.
- Proven experience in merchandising, retail account management, or a similar role within the licensed retail industry.
- Strong understanding of product development processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Creativity and a keen eye for aesthetics, understanding what appeals to the retailer's customer base.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and manage tasks effectively.
- Market awareness and ability to analyze trends and competitor activities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Adobe CS and Microsoft Office Suite.
