The Social Commerce & Community Manager is responsible for implementing the brand’s go to market content driving traffic and commerce for the brand globally. This individual is highly motivated, creative and proactive with experience in content development, managing social media platforms, and has a keen understanding of overall brand marketing. This individual will be responsible for developing and administering social media content that is designed to engage our community, creating an interactive relationship between consumers and the company’s brands while driving engagement and customer acquisition.   

The individual will be instrumental in creating and implementing innovative tactics that will drive the success of social commerce through the use of riders, influencers, brand ambassadors, brand / user-generated content, sweepstakes, events and other related marketing levers as it relates to our customer base and our customer journey.  This individual will also drive the copy and PR messaging to support the annual go to market calendar.

Key Responsibilities

·     Lead global social commerce deployment, elevating brand while driving traffic to Dakine.com. Create and maintain the social content calendar for each social platforms, i.e. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.

·     Source, publish and monitor all postings on relevant social platforms daily.

·     Partner with marketing team to lead and optimize global content deployment. Ensure alignment of go-to-market, and leverage ambassadors, team riders, and partners for campaign deployment.

·     Work cross-functionally with eComm to reach new consumers and ensure elevated brand messaging and consumer journey through digital channels.

·     Partner closely with the creative team to curate assets that are appropriate and timely to support overall brand go-to-market, campaigns, and product launches.

·     Write and approve copy and craft storytelling to reach and engage new consumers via social media, Dakine.com, email marketing, PR, video releases, and other partnerships.  

·     Monitor trends in Social Media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy and make suggestions as appropriate that will advance social strategy and goals.

·     Engage in daily conversations in company’s online communities and ensure that comments/questions are addressed in a timely manner using a consistent voice and applicable brand messaging, partner with customer service to resolve customer concerns.

·     Research and identify opportunities, new technology and emerging platforms; monitor competitive set.

·     Manage PR agency to cross-promote and support marketing efforts to drive brand awareness, authentically growing brand voice.

·     Develop weekly/monthly reports on social media and PR results against KPI’s.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • College Degree in communications, social media/PR, or related marketing degree
  • Must like to have fun, work hard, and want to get sucked over the falls, go over the handlebars and ragdoll down the mountain with us.
  • Excellent knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and other social media best practices and platforms
  • Strong understanding of social media KPIs and industry benchmarks
  • Excellent multitasking & time-management skills
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Great interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • Interest in Action Sports / actively engaged in Surf, Mountain Biking, backcountry Skiing or Snowboarding
