Sales Director

Description

The Sales Director is responsible for growing sales by developing existing customer relationships and obtaining new business through business development and opening new doors. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills and be capable of supporting multiple projects with competing priorities. The ability to properly prioritize work flow and thrive in a busy and dynamic work environment is a must.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop channel growth strategy and timeline to expand current customer base 
  • Manage and grow assigned accounts by maintaining relationships, communicating new products, analyzing sales trends and create programs that make business sense 
  • Create, implement and analyze seasonal/annual sales goals, assortment plans and forecasts. 
  • Attend retailer and industry trade shows in order to promote brand awareness and new account openings
  • Present the brand platform and provide product trainings in front of small and large audiences    
  • Lead and direct coordination and execution of account presentations, trade show appointments, retailer hospitality and retailer events 
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews with customers’ senior leadership team 
  • Plan and utilize POS to support retail environment, maximize branding and sales exposure if applicable
  • Develop sales incentive programs (rep and retailer based) in tandem with internal distribution account managers
  • Gather and analyze competitor, industry and customer data and be prepared to present solutions to compete in the marketplace with the data
  • Serve as the escalation point for any customer issues that may arise 
  • Responsible for ensuring all operational duties are completed by support staff
  • Work in a close team with internal account managers and cross functional support teams
  • Additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Must be resourceful and internet savvy
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in an efficient and accurate manner 
  • Excellent verbal and written grammar
  • Exceptional phone and email etiquette
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Minimum of 7 years previous sales experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years previous management experience required

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
