To sustain its on-going business and to prepare for future growth, Verallia USA Corporation is looking for a talented, versatile team player to join the company as General Accountant, reporting to the Head of Finance.
Position: GENERAL ACCOUNTANT
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounts Receivable
- Responsible for all collection efforts and maintaining the receivables current
- Communicates any credit or collection issues with customer and sales
- Investigates any cash receipt discrepancies
- Ensures positive customer relations and communication
- Account Payable
- Reviews AP invoices, compares to the purchase order and books invoices
- Works in collaboration with Operation team and vendors to resolve invoices in dispute (pricing variances, additional charges…)
- Investigates any discrepancies and reconcile vendor statement
- Ensures positive vendor relations and communication
- Manage relationship with office vendors
- Cash management
- Post all banking transaction
- Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger balance, ensuring all cash transactions have been accounted for.
- General accounting
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile balance sheet accounts (prepaid expenses, cash, other receivables and liabilities, etc.), ensuring that all entries are accurate and that transactions are reported in accordance with accounting standards.
- Perform month end report & post journal entries for month end closing
Ad-hoc topics:
- Costing: Perform spot costing throughout the year when needed
- Opportunity to work on different projects: Financial analysis projects, implementation of new SAP features, administrative work etc..
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have experience in GAAP accounting
- Must be proficient with computers, cloud-based accounting software and SAP
- Ability to work 40 hours/week
- Demonstrate entrepreneur skills, proactivity, problem solving and communication skills
- Able to work in a fast pace environment
- Bachelor Degree or Accounting/Tax certification
- 5 years of accounting experience
