Under Armour is embarking on a bold digital strategy, leveraging new and emerging technologies to transform fitness and performance. We’re looking for a product leader and visionary to help us define and grow a critical part of our strategy - subscriptions.

 

As a Sr. PM, you’ll drive the development of a robust premium business for our suite of Connected Fitness mobile applications - MyFitnessPal, MapMy Suite, and Endomondo. This role requires someone who is comfortable thinking big to define the north star, while simultaneously translating the vision into sound strategies and turning ideas into action. As a horizontal product owner, you’ll work closely with the vertical product teams to define and execute opportunities that enhance the user experience and help our users achieve their fitness goals. This means becoming intimately familiar with our technology, our users, their needs, and the business’ needs, to deliver on our vision and grow our subscriptions business.

 

 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify, rationalize, and ultimately deliver subscription services and product solutions that grow revenue and help our users achieve their health and fitness goals
  • Manage roadmaps and feature prioritization across multiple products, collaborating with technical teams to bring ideas to life
  • Optimize subscription conversion and retention through frequent experimentation and A/B tests
  • Drive product requirement definitions, user research, metrics analysis, and launch efforts
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and executives to develop and pitch strategies for new and exciting product ideas
  • Work at all levels in the organization, with no job being considered too large or small
  • Work cross-functionally to manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences
  • Understand market trends, perform competitive research, and assess user impact and revenue opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical product development and the software development lifecycle
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented
  • Ability to influence across multiple levels and build relationships
  • Ability to create product strategies and achieve alignment across different teams
  • Self-starting with a bias towards results and outcomes as opposed to activity
  • Thrives and adapts well in a fast-paced environment with project management skills
  • Fosters a spirit of team unity across product management, design, engineering, QA, and with team members across multiple geographies

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • 6+ years experience in a digital product management role, preferably with a mobile product and with revenue ownership
  • Experience launching, interpreting A/B tests, and making recommendations based on synthesized insights
  • Experience building and supporting products at scale (5M MAUs or more)
  • Experience developing revenue and growth strategies for consumer digital products
  • Master’s degree and/or combination of specialized work experience

About Under Armour

It all started in 1995 when Kevin Plank, then the special teams captain on the University of Maryland football team, noticed that the cotton T-shirts he and his teammates wore underneath their pads were always soaked and heavy with sweat.

“There has to be something better,” he thought. He didn’t realize it then, but that one, simple statement would soon launch the performance apparel industry.

After graduation, he set out to make a superior T–shirt—one that stayed light in even the nastiest heat. After driving through the night to New York’s famous garment district for fabric samples, Plank built his first prototype, which he then gave to his Maryland teammates and friends who’d gone on to play in the NFL. With their feedback, he went back to work, quickly emerging with a revolutionary new T-shirt built from microfibers that wicked moisture and kept athletes cool, dry, and light.

With his design nearly perfect, Plank needed funds to launch his apparel line, so he maxed out his credit cards to the tune of $40,000 and set up a company in his grandmother’s basement in Washington, DC. Twelve months later, he made his first team sale to Georgia Tech. Other major Division I teams followed in droves, along with two dozen NFL teams. The company soon moved its headquarters to South Baltimore where it developed its now-famous gearlines, which included HeatGear®, ColdGear®, and AllSeasonGear®.

The revolution had officially begun.

In 1999, Warner Brothers contracted Under Armour to outfit its actors for two upcoming football movies, Oliver Stone’s Any Given Sunday and The Replacements. The object was authenticity, and Under Armour delivered. Then, in 2003, the Brand launched its first television commercial, which introduced a rallying cry for athletes that would change the face of sports in three words: PROTECT THIS HOUSE.®

Today, not even two decades later, Under Armour makes the world’s most innovative performance footwear, apparel, and accessories and is a mainstay on athletic fields, courts, pitches, gyms, and rinks everywhere. Under Armour gear is available all over the world… and on the Brand’s website, UA.COM.
